Shaping the World

Connecting young minds and spirits for a global perspective.

As educators at Globeducate, we have the opportunity and responsibility to lay the foundations for a better future and this begins with a robust response to the pace of change we see in the world and to the approach we take to sustainability education.

It is clear from talking to our Globeducate students, teachers and parents that there is a hunger to ensure that we go further than traditional education models allow for. We must prepare each student to become a global citizen who can shape the world.

Watch our short film explaining Globeducate´s mission to address the social, economic and environmental challenges that are re-shaping our communities across the world.

How do we achieve this?

Globeducate has developed a Global Agenda as a conduit for bringing our vision to life in classrooms all over the world and we have formed partnerships with internationally recognised change-makers.

Through these partnerships we can fulfil our mission to address the United Nations´ Sustainable Development Goals.

Globeducate partnerships

Our Global Agenda will achieve maximum impact across our entire network in 12 countries. Through our Globeducate partnerships with Eco Schools and WWF, each student´s contribution has meaning and currency inside and outside the classroom.  Our schools are leading the way in making sustainability education an intrinsic part of life in our school communities.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The SDGs are the blueprint to achieving a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice.

The 17 global goals agreed on in 2015 are all interconnected, and in order to leave no one behind, nearly every country in the world has agreed that it is important that we achieve them all by 2030.

WE HAVE DELIVERED
planet-related goals during the years 2019-2022.

WE ARE DEVELOPING
goals related to People, Planet and Prosperity between 2023 - 2025.

WE ARE BUILDING
ways to support those who need help, such as refugees.

WE ARE NURTURING
humanitarian projects around the world

Our approach to these UN Sustainable Development Goals within an educational setting regards social, economic and ecological development as interconnected.  Students and teachers in Globeducate schools will engage in sustainability education activities that give tangible, meaningful opportunities to address these goals.

No one will protect what they don´t care about, and no one will care about what they have never experienced.

World Wildlife Fund

Our unique partnership with WWF makes it possible for our teachers to draw on a wealth of educational resources and to take part in pilot projects in sustainability education and training.

Taking action today to protect tomorrow

In the launch year of our agenda, 350 of our students took part in online summits and webinars with WWF experts. These students experienced virtual presentations, break-out sessions, Q&A and round-table debates. They developed their communication, negotiation and critical thinking skills and worked with fellow students from across our Globeducate network.

Delivering sustainability education means our students drive change

Students, teachers and families are connected to raise awareness of endangered species on WWF Wear it Wild day. Some of our schools also fundraise for this cause.

It is truly inspiring to see the huge amount of work Globeducate schools around hte world do to prioritise sustainability... Their imaginative ideas show the passion and commitment there is across the network and it is clear that Globeducate are inspiring and empowering a wave of young environmental leaders."
