Model United Nations
The Globeducate Model United Nations (MUN) is an annual academic event where students aged 16 and older simulate the workings of the United Nations. Participants represent different countries and engage in debates on pressing global issues.
The event aims to educate students about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy, and the United Nations agenda. The event focuses on developing skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, group communication, research, policy analysis, active listening, negotiating, conflict resolution, parliamentary procedure, note-taking, writing, and editing.
MUN is a key part of Globeducate's mission to prepare students to be global citizens who can shape the world. It fosters leadership abilities, intercultural understanding, and empathy, providing a platform for students to learn about international relations and diplomacy while building confidence and social skills.
On the first day, many were hesitant to speak, but after encouragement, they bravely shared their opinions. By the second day, even more delegates were eager to participate, showing how MUN boosts public speaking skills and self-assurance

The most central skill developed at these conferences is public speaking, as students play the role of ambassadors of another country. In addition, participation in MUN enhances university applications, showcasing students' dedication to extracurricular activities, global awareness, and appreciation for diversity
Key Highlights
- Debate and Negotiate: MUN provides a platform for students to engage in formal debates, representing different countries and viewpoints. This process helps them develop critical thinking, diplomacy, and negotiation skills as they work to craft resolutions on complex global issues.
-
Public Speaking and Leadership: Participants are challenged to speak confidently in front of peers, articulating their positions and persuading others. This experience enhances public speaking abilities and builds leadership qualities, preparing students for future roles in international affairs or public service

This exposure to different cultures, perspectives, and global issues helps participants develop a broader worldview and empathy for others, promoting the principles of global citizenship
What an awesome experience for our MUN Valencia delegates and MUN directors. The opportunity to meet Globeducate students from around the world was an unbelievable experience that will stay in the hearts and minds for eternity for our Cambridge House BIS students. The chance to pursue solutions to current global issues that affect every citizen on the planet was reflected in the passion and humility displayed by the Globeducate students. Congratulations to every delegate. You are wiser, more mature, and more invested in the future happiness of societies as a result of your participation in Globeducate MUN 2024

Previous events
Students who show interest in MUN are described as empathetic global citizens who show interest and empathy for current world events and are willing to step in to make a difference. The MUN is a perfect opportunity for Globeducate students to improve and develop their public speaking and communication skills
Through negotiation and diplomacy, students developed a deeper understanding of some of our most pressing global issues. They had to work together to find innovative and sustainable solutions and I am sure that a great many of our participants will need to use such skills in their future careers as they go out into the world, hopefully to make a positive difference. This is what we believe in at Globeducate - that students will develop the interest and desire, as well as the skills, to shape the world. Some of our students attending this event will no doubt go on to be future leaders, policymakers, innovators and global citizens
