Building the future today: Globeducate Robotics Challenge
The fourth annual Globeducate Robotics Challenge took place in Paris on 19th May, hosted by Collège EIB Monceau, with 45 teams taking part.
This year marked an important milestone as it was the second time that Globeducate schools outside of France took part, bringing together students from Canada, Italy, Morocco and Spain to compete, collaborate and showcase their robotics and programming skills.
As one of the event organisers, Boris Maloberti, Digital Project Manager and Technology Teacher at Collège Monceau, says, "Today, learning how to code or design robots is no longer just a technical skill—it is truly the language of the future. Careers are evolving at a rapid pace, driven by AI, automation, and digital innovation. In this context, STEAM approaches (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) are more essential than ever to develop skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and complex problem-solving."
Inspired by the theme of Roland-Garros, the prestigious French Open tennis tournament, the competition brought together 45 teams to take on challenges highlighting creativity, strategy, teamwork and technical skills.

Schools across Paris and from Canada participated in person, from EIB Grenelle, EIB de la Jonchère, EIB Lamartine, EIB Monceau Primaire, Collège EIB Monceau, Lycée EIB Etoile, ICS Paris, ICS Côte d’Azur and Toronto Prep School.
Schools participating remotely included Agora Sant Cugat International School, Agora Portals International School and Agora Madrid International School from Spain, Canadian School of Florence from Italy, and Lycée Français Sophie Germain and Lycée Français Guy de Maupassant from Morocco.
The day ended with a ceremony at which Julie Costes, President of Globeducate France, and Jean-Xavier Moreau, Managing Director of EIB Paris schools, took the floor. Their speeches underlined the importance attached to innovation and robotics in the group's schools.

STEAM Learning across Globeducate
The event was organised to promote the development of STEAM learning in Globeducate schools, a cross-curricular project-based approach that integrates the teaching of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. The Globeducate STEAM Week in early May set the tone for the month, culminating in this exciting and dynamic event.
The aim was to explore concept-rich activities to establish links between different subjects and, most importantly, to use them to solve problems and work in teams using games to enhance learning.
LEGO Education Collaboration
During this popular event, now a regular on the Globeducate calendar, students were able to put into practice the robotics and coding lessons they had studied in class or extra-curricular clubs, using LEGO Spike ™ Prime resources. Through hands-on projects such as this, students are challenged to solve problems based on real-life scenarios, which fosters motivation and encourages creativity, teamwork and sharing. Globeducate schools benefit from a well established collaboration with LEGO Education.

"At a time when artificial intelligence, robotics, and connected devices are profoundly transforming our daily lives, it is essential to give young people the tools to understand, master, and create these technologies. This is precisely the mission of the Globeducate Robotics Challenge, which we are proud to organise each year.
Through this international challenge, our students do more than just learn: they experiment, innovate, test, fail… and succeed. They become active participants in their own learning and builders of tomorrow’s world.
We are proud to see this new generation of innovators emerging—capable not only of understanding technology but also of using it responsibly and creatively to tackle global challenges.
Congratulations to all participants for their outstanding performances during this edition! Teachers and observers were impressed by the level of engagement, the quality of the projects, and the strong team spirit demonstrated throughout the competition.
Beyond technical skills, it is collaboration, creativity, and the ability to innovate together that truly made the difference. Our students rose to the challenge brilliantly, revealing their full potential both individually and collectively."
