Globeducate A-Level Results Top Grades Surpass UK Averages

Globeducate British International Schools recorded outstanding A-Level results, with 45 per cent of all grades awarded A* to A, and 82 per cent of grades awarded A* to C.

In the first year A-Level exams have taken place across all schools since the pandemic, Globeducate students also outperformed the UK average of 36 per cent A* to A grades by 9 per cent – testament to the dedication of the students and their teachers, and the support of their families.

In Portugal, Globeducate´s Nobel Algarve British International School, Lagoa, celebrated record-breaking results, with more than half of the grades achieved being A* to A, an increase of more than 20 per cent on the previous year.

Just under a quarter of the school´s students graduated with the coveted three or more A* or A grades and are off to their first-choice universities, while 21 per cent of students achieved the highest grade of A*, compared to the UK average of 15.6 per cent.

Mougins British International School in the South of France reported some remarkable scores including A* or A in 86 per cent of Chemistry grades, 84 per cent of French grades and 67 per cent of Maths grades, and students are heading off to leading Russell Group universities in the UK, including Oxford University, Durham University and UCL, and McGill University in Canada.

Chief Education Officer Daniel Jones said, “We are delighted with our students’ successes in this year’s A-Levels.  Their examination results are a testament to the years of hard work that our students and teachers have put in under extreme circumstances during the Covid pandemic.

“At the same time, our schools have provided these young people with a range of educational experiences that go beyond the classroom, such as Eco-Schools Councils and Globeducate events like the Model United Nations and our International Music Festival. They have balanced their studies with programmes such as Duke of Edinburgh International Award, sporting competitions and have represented their schools in community and charity initiatives.

"Their outstanding grades sit against a backdrop of preparing to be global citizens who can shape the world. We wish them all well and thank their teachers for their dedication and engaging approaches to teaching and learning, as well as the support given to students by families and our wider school communities.”
