ICS Paris Unveils Pioneering Space Centre, Ushering in Era of Innovation and Collaboration

ICS Paris International School reached a significant milestone in April on opening its Space Centre, heralding a new era of creativity, collaboration, and groundbreaking ideas.

The centre promises to be a hub where our students will embark on a journey of innovation and excellence, shaping our futures in an ever-evolving world.

Distinguished guests graced the occasion, offering insights into the future of education and technology: Michael Fertik, Managing Director and Founder of Heroic Ventures and the Executive Chairman and Founder of Reputation.com, shed light on the future of generative AI. His address emphasised the importance of empowering future generations with the skill to "learn to learn," crucial in a world driven by rapid technological advancement.

Elpidoforos Anastasiou, PASCAL Education Space Centre Manager, joined the event, travelling from Globeducate schools in Cyprus. He shared his vision and action plan for ICS Paris, showcasing the potential for innovation in education. PASCAL Private School Larnaca was the first school in Globeducate to have a Space Centre for STEAM innovation. A number of similar centres, Innovation Centres, STEAM Hubs or Space Centres, have opened across the group, including PASCAL Private School Lefkosia and Agora Portals International School, Spain, and ICS Paris is the latest Globeducate school to make this investment in the future of learning at the school.

Clara Hawkins, Head of Artificial Intelligence at Globeducate, and am attended the event and spoke to students, staff and visitors, highlighting the transformative role of AI in education and its potential benefits for the sector. Clara is spearheading a pivotal transformation in education, working closely with schools in Globeducate to integrate AI throughout all subjects and curricular, across all age groups. Unique to the Globeducate approach is to establish AI Youth Councils.

The ICS Paris Space Centre is the first of its kind in an international school in Paris. Head of School at ICS Paris Angela Hollington said,

We take pride in leading the charge for change. By providing ample opportunities for the students and pushing the boundaries of transformative education, the school aims to equip the next generation with the skills needed to thrive in the 21st century. Thank you to all of those who have worked to bring this project to life for our students to benefit from.

The event also gave students from the ICS Paris Engineering Club and the HiAi! project team the opportunity to showcase their projects to the guests in attendance. The success of these initiatives reflects the dedication and expertise of AI, Design, and Technology teachers at ICS Paris and the innovative approach to education of Globeducate, preparing each student to become a global citizen who can shape the world.

The inauguration of the Innovation Centre marks a significant step forward ICS Paris International School, setting the stage for a future where innovation and excellence go hand in hand, preparing students to excel in an ever-changing world.
