Globeducate International Music Festival 2022

Agora Portals and Sant Cugat Co-Host 10th Globeducate International Music Festival

Agora Portals International School and Agora Sant Cugat International School co-hosted the annual Globeducate International Music Festival on 29th April - a virtual international music festival that united young musicians from 13 Globeducate schools for a celebration of music with the theme, Good Vibrations.

The event, in its tenth year, brought together students from Globeducate schools in Canada, France, Italy and Spain.  Each school music department received a set piece to perform and record, an orchestral and choral interpretation of John Lennon’s “Imagine”. They also had the opportunity to perform a song of their choice. The event was organised by teachers Imma Lluch (Agora Sant Cugat) and Marta Gomez (Agora Portals).

The event returned to Globeducate´s Agora International School group, the founders of the festival in 2012 and, once again, it was a huge success. Schools joined in a group performance of the popular song by Maroon 5, Memories – a poignant song for many during the pandemic period.

Agora Portals International School Director Rafael Barea said: “We were delighted to co-host this festival after hosting it in 2021, it has been an opportunity to share a common goal and to encourage music, one of the pillars of our educational project. We can be very proud of our music dedication in each of our schools and of all the hard work carried out by all the music departments. It was also very nice to end this festival with a wish for everybody: Imagine all the people living life in peace.”

Agora Sant Cugat International School Director Vicenç Gandol said: “This festival is one of six annual Globeducate events that takes place with the aim of bringing together our group´s global community of students and teachers to develop skills and competencies, to build confidence and to nurture global perspectives. Students of all ages and abilities are invited to join this event, and schools prepare a team entry.”
