National Water Champion Award for TIPS Globeducate Kochi Students

Two students from TIPS Globeducate Kochi achieved a remarkable national milestone by securing the National Water Champion Award (First Position) at the Stockholm Junior Water Prize India – Third Cohort Grand Demo Day, hosted at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) on 8th May 2026.

Students Vilok V. Sasindran (AL Student) and Bobby Chacko Aloysius (AS student) presented their award-winning project, “Hybrid Atmospheric Water Generator” (Project ID: SJWP20260147), and were recognised for the project´s innovation, practical application, and contribution towards sustainable water solutions.

The competition in Madras witnessed more than 350 entries from across India, with only 25 finalist teams shortlisted for the final presentation round at IIT Madras. Following a successful virtual interview round held on 9th April 2026, the TIPS team, which also included Ms. Srimayi Cheerath, another AL student, who progressed through the rigorous selection process. Vilok and Bobby eventually emerged as national winners among the finalists.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for Kerala, as they are the first students from the state to qualify for the final presentation round of this prestigious competition at IIT Madras. 

The Grand Demo Day brought together young innovators from across the country to showcase solutions focused on water sustainability and environmental impact, providing students with opportunities for learning, collaboration, and interaction with experts in the field.

As national winners, Vilok and Bobby will now represent India at World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden, taking their innovation to the global stage. The students have been assigned a scientific mentor from the Naval Physical and Oceanographic Labs to support them for the challenge ahead.
