Canadian Curriculum from pre-school to high school in the heart of Italy
The Canadian School of Florence (CSF), formerly Blyth Academy Florence, is a private, co-educational international school for students aged 3 to 18. Since opening its Senior School (Grades 9 to 12) in 2017, CSF has steadily grown, expanding to include its Primary and Middle Schools (Kindergarten to Grade 8) in the historic hills of Fiesole, just minutes from the centre of Florence.
At CSF, students follow the highly respected Canadian Ontario curriculum at all levels, enhanced with Italian paritaria accreditation for Kindergarten through Grade 8. Starting in September 2025, CSF’s Senior School will also receive paritaria accreditation, offering students the additional option of pursuing a dual diploma — the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) alongside the Italian Liceo delle Scienze Umane diploma. While all students work toward earning the OSSD, those who wish to broaden their academic pathways will have the opportunity to achieve both diplomas within the same program.
Small class sizes and personalized learning are at the heart of the CSF experience. Our dedicated teachers foster academic excellence while nurturing key values such as integrity, compassion, resilience, and global citizenship. Literacy and numeracy are foundational pillars of our teaching and learning, empowering students with the essential skills they need for lifelong success. We celebrate diversity and prioritize student well-being, believing that every student and teacher should feel seen, heard, and represented within our community and throughout the walls of our school. People, culture, and community are at the centre of everything we do. Through dynamic, hands-on learning both inside and outside the classroom, students develop creativity, critical thinking, collaboration skills, and a lifelong love of learning. Our programs emphasize STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education, eco-awareness, and sustainability initiatives, helping students engage meaningfully with the world around them.
Field trips, cultural experiences, and global engagement opportunities further enrich the learning journey, thanks to our membership in Globeducate. CSF students participate in international academic, arts, athletic, and sustainability events, forging global connections and inspiring them to make a positive impact in their community and on the world. With its inspiring location, outstanding academic program, and vibrant, inclusive community, the Canadian School of Florence offers an education that empowers students to discover who they are, achieve their full potential, and thrive in a complex, changing world.
