Fostering a global understanding of cultures and people

IPS is a school that prides itself on the warmth of its welcome to children and parents from around the world. It is a popular school of about 400 children, of 40 different nationalities, with only 20 per cent coming from the host nation. Situated 25 kilometres to the west of Lisbon, to the north of Cascais, IPS attracts families living in Cascais and the surrounding localities, from Oeiras to Sintra.

The multinational community represented at IPS by pupils and their families, as well as the staff, helps to create a learning environment that fosters a global understanding and appreciation of the variety of cultures and of each other. We promote the values of caring, self-discipline, respect, humour, a love of learning and a sense of discovery. We are proud of the high academic standards achieved by our children, and encourage them to achieve their best in all aspects of the curriculum. We are a proud Eco-School and as a Globeducate British International School, we have a rich Outdoor Learning programme.

A brand new state-of-the-art secondary school campus is being built close-by, planned to open in 2026.
