A Leading, innovative school in Galicia
Founded in 1951, Colegio Peleteiro is a leading educational institution in Galicia and Spain, recognised for its academic excellence and commitment to the holistic development of its students. Throughout its history, the school has remained true to a clear educational philosophy: learning should be meaningful, engaging, and grounded in strong values.
Located in modern facilities just five minutes from the centre of Santiago de Compostela, the school is committed to providing its students with the highest standard of education, not only academically but also in terms of personal values, preparing them to become competent and principled professionals in the future.
To achieve this, the school places particular emphasis on:
- Language learning: 50% of our curriculum is taught in English from the age of three through to Year 3 of Primary Education, while maintaining a strong focus on English throughout all later academic stages. Many of our students achieve C1 and C2 results in Cambridge examinations. We also offer an introduction to German from the age of three, as well as French and Chinese in later years.
- Academic excellence: we combine the best of traditional teaching methods with innovative approaches such as project-based learning, public speaking, and critical thinking, helping students to develop essential soft skills.
- Student support and guidance: our students benefit from the guidance of a personal tutor who supports them throughout their educational journey, both academically and emotionally, with additional support from the Guidance and Student Welfare Departments.
The educational project is further enriched by a wide range of extracurricular activities, both sporting and non-sporting, as well as educational extension programmes through which the school welcomes distinguished professionals from a variety of disciplines, including several Nobel Prize winners and other leading figures from the scientific and cultural worlds.
