L´Ecole de Battersea

The school ethos is underpinned by the core values of respect, curiosity, freedom, friendship, resilience, achievement and open-mindedness, with every child’s safety, wellbeing and happiness placed first.

Teaching with care, the school prioritises the happiness and safety of every child, with a strong focus on pastoral care and well-being, where the school community embodies a welcoming family-feel atmosphere.

The school strongly believes that providing a bilingual education from the earliest age brings significant benefits to a child’s development, and by blending the French and English systems together, provides a unique curriculum, where pupils progress with adaptive and open-minded capacities. The curriculum is based on the French system with aspects of the English system added in.

By taking the best from both the French and English educational systems the school blends tradition with innovation to provide a dynamic bilingual education, respecting the cultural heritage and linguistic customs of each pupil whilst equipping pupils with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in the future.

Leavers at the end of CM2 can choose from continuing in the French system (Lycée Français) or moving onto a top English Independent school with tailored lessons for this option.

As an AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) accredited school, and a DfE (Department for Education) registered school, L'Ecole de Battersea is inspected by both the AEFE and OFSTED. The school maintains a consistent and high educational and pastoral standard, thereby achieving alignment with the French educational standards globally as an “Ecole Partenaire”.
