Steeped in British tradition
Stonar is a British school founded in 1895 in the Victorian era. The school is situated in the county of Wiltshire, near the city of Bath and is approximately an hour and a half by train from London. The school has three boarding houses that provide accommodation for British and international boarders from over 15 nationalities, who come to the school to enjoy the excellent teaching, incredible facilities and warm and friendly environment.
Originally an all-girls school, boys joined Stonar Prep School in 2011 and today the school welcomes boys and girls of all ages and nationalities up to 18. Stonar School is set in beautiful grounds with magnificent facilities for sports and the arts, with special emphasis on equestrianism; more than 40 per cent of the students ride regularly and 65 horses and ponies are stabled on site.
Students at Stonar School receive an extremely high-quality British education that is designed to inspire and motivate students to achieve academic excellence but also to promote curiosity, confidence, respect and independence. The excellent boarding houses offer a warm, safe, nurturing environment where the children’s happiness and well-being are paramount and where students form true friendships that last a lifetime.
Stonar joined Globeducate in 2012 and was the first school in the United Kingdom to become a member of Globeducate’s international network. Since that time, Stonar has become one of Globeducate’s primary residential summer school destinations and forms an integral part of the group’s International Exchange Programme.
